Three Lakes Hike, Durmitor National Park, Montenegro

En nuestro último día en el país balcánico, Charlie y yo teníamos pensado subir al pico Bobotov Kuk (2523 m), el más alto del país.
In our last day in the Balkan country, Charlie and I had planned to climb Bobotov Kuk peak(2523 m), the highest peak in the country.

A las 6 de la mañana pusimos rumbo al Parque Nacional Durmitor, el área montañosa del país y donde se encuentra Bobotov Kuk. La climatología no era muy buena, pero decidimos arriesgarnos e ir para ver si había alguna posibilidad de hacer algo.
At 6am we headed to Durmitor National Park, the mountainous area of the country and where Bobotov Kuk is located. The forecast said that the weather was not very good, but we decided to take a chance and go to see if there was any possibility of doing something.

Al llegar a Durmitor paramos en Zabljak, el pueblo mas grande de la zona, donde tomamos un café y fuimos a la oficina de turismo para preguntar si la ascensión era viable. En la oficina de turismo nos dijeron que no podíamos hacer la ascensión al Bobotov Kuk debido a la niebla y a la alta posibilidad de tormenta eléctrica, pero en su lugar nos dijeron que podíamos hacer la ruta de los 3 Jezero (Ruta de los 3 lagos), por lo que al salir de la oficina de turismo nos dirigimos al lago Crno Jezero, el lago más grande y famoso del Parque Nacional, donde comienza la ruta.
When we reached Durmitor we stopped at Zabljak, the biggest town in the area, where we had a coffee and went to the info office to ask if the ascent was viable. At the info office they told us that we could not ascend to Bobotov Kuk due to the fog and the high possibility of thunderstorm, but instead they told us that we could make the route of the 3 Jezero (the 3 lakes hike) , so when we left the info office we headed to Crno Jezero lake, the largest and most famous lake in the National Park, where the route begins.

Una vez en Crno Jezero, tomamos el sendero que sale hacia la derecha del lago, con destino Jakšića Mlin, una casita blanca de piedra.
Once in Crno Jezero, we took the path that goes to the right of the lake, towards Jakšića Mlin, a little white stone house.

En Jakšića Mlin seguimos por un sendero más o menos llano hasta llegar a Zminje Jezero, el primer lago de la ruta.
At Jakšića Mlin we continued for a more or less flat path until we reach Zminje Jezero, the first lake of the route.

Desde Zminje Jezero en adelante la ruta se endurece, ya que comenzamienza la ascensión al pico Crvena Greda (2164 m).
From Zminje Jezero onwards the route gets harder, as the ascent to Crvena Greda peak (2164 m) begins. 

La primera parte de la ascensión es bastante vertical y no presenta mucha dificultad.
The first part of the ascent is quite vertical but it is not very difficult.

La segunda parte del ascenso comienza en el desvío situado a 1940 metros, debido a que el camino se convierte en un pequeño sendero bastante más peligroso, ya que tiene tramos de mucha exposición y debido a la hierba, en condiciones húmedas pueden ser bastante resbaladizo.
The second part of the ascent starts at the crossing located at 1940 meters, because the path becomes in a much more dangerous little path, as it has some areas of high exposure and because of the grass, in wet conditions can be quite slippery.

En la cima tomamos un pequeño descanso antes de iniciar el descenso.
In the summit we took a short break before starting the descent.

El descenso pasa junto a los lagos Jablan Jezero y Barno Jezero, y termina en Crno Jezero.

The descent passes next to Lakes Jablan Jezero and Barno Jezero, and ends in Crno Jezero.

Aqua Park Budva, Budva, Montenegro

Tras la andanda del día anterior, decidimos tomar un tomar un día de descanso e ir a pasar el día al aqua park de Budha, una ciudad que se encuentra a unos 30 minutos de Kotor.
After the long walk of the day before, we decided to rest for a day and go to the aqua park in Budha, a city that is about 30 minutes from Kotor.

El Aqua Park no es muy grande, pero cuenta con toboganes de todo tipo, por lo que pasamos un gran día.
The Aqua Park is not very big, but it has slides of all kinds, so we had a great day.

Parque Nacional Lovćen, Montenegro

En nuestro tercer día en Kotor decidimos subir al monte Lovćen (1.749 m).
In our third day in Kotor, we decided to climb Mount Lovćen (1,479 m).

A las 8 de la mañana, Charlie y yo salimos desde Kotor con dirección al Parque Natural de Lovćen, para llegar allí tomamos el sendero en zigzag situado justo detrás de la fortaleza de Kotor, justo a la entrada del sendero hay una vía ferrata. La primera parte del sendero se encuentra en muy buenas condiciones, aunque al terminar la zona de zigzag y entrar en el bosque empeora y presenta un poco de dificultad.
At 8 o'clock in the morning, Charlie and I went from Kotor to the Lovćen Natural Park, taking the zigzag path located just behind the fortress of Kotor, just at the entrance of the trail there is a via ferrata. The first part of the trail is in very good condition, but at the end of the zigzag zone there is a forest, where it gets worse and harder.

Una vez en la parte de arriba nos dirigimos hacia del parque nacional, pero al llegar allí nos dimos cuenta de que muchas marcas de sendero han desaparecido debido a que están construyendo una nueva carretera. Como no encontrábamos el camino preguntamos a uno de los trabajadores y como no tenía ni idea nos dijo que siguiéramos la carretera, la cual bordea toda la montaña, en vez de decirnos donde se encontraba el sendero.
Once at the top we headed to the national park, but when we got there, we realized that many trail brands had disappeared because they are building a new road. As we did not find the road, we asked one of the workers, but he had no idea about the area, so he told us to follow the road, which borders the whole mountain, instead of telling us where the trail was.

Tras 2 horas andando alrededor de la montaña por una pista llena de polvo, llegamos a un mirador desde el que pudimos contemplar toda la bahía.
After 2 hours walking around the mountain on that dusty road, we reached to a viewpoint from which we could see the entire bay.

Cuando por fin conseguimos dar la vuelta a toda la montaña encontramos un sendero a Kotor, así que como estábamos cansados de no encontrar el sendero que sube a la cima, decidimos tomarlo y volver a Kotor.
When we finally "finished the lap" around the whole mountain we found a path to Kotor, so as we were tired of not finding the path that climbs to the top, we decided to take it and go back to Kotor.

Blue Grotto, Montenegro

En nuestro segundo día en Montenegro decidimos visitar la Blue Grotto o Cueva Azul, una gruta que se encuentra en dentro de un acantilado de unos 30 metros de alto y que solo es accesible mediante embarcación. La cueva tiene ese nombre debido a que en su interior los rayos de luz diagonales que entran en la gruta iluminan el fondo y tiñen de azul el agua de la caverna.
On our second day in Montenegro we decided to visit the Blue Grotto or Blue Cave, a cave located inside of  a 30 meters high cliff and that is only accessible by boat. The cave has that name because inside the diagonal rays of light that enter the cave illuminate the bottom and stain the water of the cave blue.

Para llegar a la cueva, nos apuntamos a una excursión en kayak.
To get to the cave, we signed up for a kayak trip.

A las 9:30 fuimos recogidos por el guía de la actividad en la estación de autobuses de Kotor, y este nos llevó hasta el camping Begovic / Veslo, donde comenzaba la actividad.
At 9:30 we were picked up at the Kotor bus station by the activity guide and he took us to the Begovic / Veslo camping, where the activity began.

Gracias a que íbamos en kayak visitamos otras grutas.
Thanks to our kayaking we visited other caves.

La primera gruta que visitamos era bastante pequeña y para entrar había que remar hacia atrás.
The first cave that we visited was quite small, to get in we had to paddle backwards.

La segunda fue la famosa cueva azul, donde ademas de deleitarnos con las magnificas vistas, nos pudimos bañar.
The second one was the famous Blue cave, where we delighted the magnificent views, also we were able to swim.

La tercera y sin duda la mejor fue, una cueva completamente a oscuras a la que hay que entrar tumbado,  una vez dentro hay que esperar hasta que los ojos se te acostumbren para observar las estalagmitas y formas redondeadas de la roca.
The third on was the best by far, a completely dark cave that to get in you have to lie down, once inside you have to wait until your eyes get used to the darkness to be able to observe the stalagmites and rounded shapes of the rock.

Tras visitar las 3 cuevas volvimos al camping.
After visiting the 3 caves we headed back to the camping.
