Ascent to Mt Pelopín (2002 m), Huesca, Spain
Flor, Diego, mi padre y un servidor, pusimos rumbo al Portalet, pero como dan mucho viento y encima dan cadenas, decidimos hacer algo en una zona más baja, elegimos el pico Pelopín (2002 m).
Flor, Diego, my dad and I headed to Portalet pass, as it was very windy and also it was required the use of snow chains, we decided to do something in a lower area. We chose Pelopin Peak (2002 m).
Aparcamos en el area de descanso localizada a la salida del Túnel de Cotefablo, donde se encuentra el restaurante "Merendero de Cotefablo".
We parked at the rest area located just after the Cotefablo tunnel, by the restaurant called "Merendero de Cotefablo".
La idea es subir con esquís de travesía, pero cuando llegamos al aparcamiento vimos que la nieve empezaba bastante arriba, por lo que tuvimos los esquís hasta llegar a la nieve.
The main idea was to climb up using the mountaneering skies since the beginning, but when we arrived to the car park we found out that the snow was quite high, so we have to carry up all the gear until we reached the snow.
Tomamos el camino que introduce en un bosque hasta llegar a un mojón donde giramos a la izquierda por un pequeño sendero entre los arbustos que lleva a la pista de Peña Ronata. Desde allí, caminamos unos 500 metros para llegar a loma y a la nieve, donde finalmente pudimos ponernos los esquís y subir en ellos hasta la cima.
We took the track that leads into the forest, until we got to a boundary marker where we turn left and took a little path thourgh the bushes that leads the track to Peña Ronata. From there, we walked for about 500 meters to reach the hillside and the snow, so we finally put the skis on and climb on them to the summit.
En la cima también hace mucho viento y frío, por lo que tiramos unas fotos rápidas y comenzamos el descenso hasta el aparcamiento.
On the summit, it was very cold and windy, so we took a few quick photos and started the descent back to the car park.
