Edil route to Mallo Aguja Roja, Riglos, Huesca

A las 8 de la mañana, mi padre y un yo aparcamos junto al Centro de interpretación de aves Arcaz, y tomamos el camino de los mallos pequeños, con dirección a la Aguja Roja.

At 8 am, my dad and I parked next to the Arcaz visitor center of birds and we took the path to the small "mallos", heading to the Aguja Roja.

Tras unos 15 minutos caminando llegamos a la base del mallo, el comienzo de la vía normal esta en la parte de atras del mallo

It took us about 15 minutes to get to the base of the mallo, the start of the route is located at the back of the mallo.

La vía consta de 3 largos:

The route has 3 pitches:

Largo 1 (35 metros, V+): Empieza en una chimenea, hay una reunión intermedia que es mejor evitar ya que es bastante incómoda. El paso de V+ evita un desplome y la reunión se encuentra en una buena repisa.

1st Pitch (35 meters, V+): It starts on a chimeney, there is a intermediate belay station that is better to miss as it is quite uncomfortable. The V+ step misses an overhang, the belay station is on a quite nice slab.

Largo 2 (25 metros, IV+): Sube por una chimenea con roca algo lavada, al final de la cual se llega a una buena cornisa con sabinas.

2nd Pitch (25 meters, IV+): It goes up on a quite polished chimney, at the end of the pitch it reaches a ledge with sabines.

Largo 3-4 (45 metros, IV+): El largo empieza yendo hacia la izquierda, para llegar a un diedro donde se encuentra el paso clave de la vía (V+), un paso bastante atletico en el que hay que conseguir agarrar las presas de más arriba. Una vez superado el paso, la vía sigue por terreno fácil hasta la reunión. Se puede unir con el 4 largo y llegar a la cima 

3rd & 4th Pitch (45 meters, IV+): The pitch starts going to the left, to reach to a dihedral where the crux of the route is, a athletical pitch in which is needed to grab the higher holds. Once the step is climbed, once the crux is climb the route goes over an easy area until the belay station. It can be linked with the 4th pitch.

El descenso lo hacemos por la vía normar en tres rápeles, el primero hasta reunión 3, el segundo hasta la reunión 2, y el tercero hasta el suelo.

The desdent is done in 3 abseils using the abseils of the normal route, the first one to the 3rd belay station, the second one to the 2nd belay station and the 3rd straight to the bottom.
