A las 7 de la mañana Charlie y yo pillamos un vuelo a Dortmund desde el aeropuerto de Stansted, aterrizando en Alemania en torno a las 9:30.
At 7am in the morning Charlie and I took the flight from Stansted airport to Dortmund, landing in Germany around 9:30am.

Tras salir del aeropuerto, pillamos el autobús que nos llevó a la ciudad, el precio del billete de autobús es 16€ ida y vuelta.
After leaving the airport, we took the bus that took us to the city, the price of the ticket is €16 round trip.

Al llegar a la ciudad nos dirigimos al hostal. Nos alojamos en la “Pension Kirchhoff”, un hostal que no es gran cosa, pero es suficiente para pasar una noche, ya que se encuentra en el centro de la ciudad.
When we got to the city we went straight to the hostel. We stayed in the "Pension Kirchhoff", the hostel nothing special, but it is good enough to spend a night, because it is located just in the city center.

En torno a las 11:30 pusimos rumbo a “Westfalenpark”, el parque más importante de la ciudad, y donde se encuentra el Florianturm, una torre circular que permite ver toda la ciudad, aunque para nuestra desgracia se encontraba cerrada por obras.
At about 11:30am  we headed to "Westfalenpark", the most important park in the city, where the Florianturm is, a circular tower that allows a view of the whole city, unluckily it was closed for works.

En torno a las 13:00 nos dirigimos al Signal Iduna Park, el campo del Borussia Dortmund, ya que a 13:30 íbamos a realizar el tour del estadio.
At about 13:00 we went to Signal Iduna Park Stadium, Borussia Dortmund's home ground, because we were going at 1:30pm we were going to take the stadium tour.

La visita está bastante bien, ya que cuentan la razón por la cual consiguen que se genere tanto ruido, es debido a que el tejado que cubre las gradas esta puesto de forma descendente hacia el terreno de juego, para aumentar de esta manera el eco que se genera. También cuentan el origen del club, el club fue fundado en 1909, el nombre “Borussia” viene de una cerveza producida en Dortmund, en sus orígenes el club vestía a rayas blancas y azules con una franja horizontal roja.
The tour is quite good, they tell the reason why the stadium gets so noisy, it is because the roof that covers the stands is placed in a descending way towards the pitch, increasind of this way the echo generated. They also tell the origin of the club, the club was founded in 1909 and the name "Borussia" comes from a beer produced in Dortmund, originally the club dressed in white and blue stripes with a horizontal red stripe.

Con el ticket de visita al estadio va incluida la visita al Borusseum, el museo del Borussia, por lo que al terminar el tour nos dirigimos al museo.
The stadium tour ticket includes the visit to the Borusseum, Borussia's museum, so we went there once the tour ended.

El Borusseum contiene una gran cantidad de copas y trofeos, aunque sin duda alguna la que más destaca es la placa que el Real Zaragoza regalo al Borussia Dortmund cuando se enfrentaron en “Copa de la UEFA” en la temporada 92/93.
The Borusseum has a lot of cups and trophies, but the most outstanding is without any doubt, the plate that Real Zaragoza gave to Borussia Dortmund when they played in  "UEFA Cup" during the season 92/93.

Al salir del museo era bastante tarde, asi que volver al centro de la ciudad e ir a tomar algo, yo tome una pinta de "Brinkhoff's", la cerveza de la ciudad.
When we left the museum, it was quite late, so we decided to go for a drink to the city center, I took a pint of "Brinkhoff's", the beer from the city.

Astún, Huesca, España

Aunque las predicciones meteorológicas decían que iba a ser un gran día para la práctica del esquí, la verdad es que fue todo lo contrario, pero aun así lo aprovechamos al máximo.
The forecast said that it was going to be a great day for skiing, unfortunately it was completely the opposite

En torno a las 8:30 de la mañana llegamos a Astún, ya que queríamos estar pronto para no tener filas a la hora de comprar el forfait.
At about 8:30 am we arrived to Astún, because we wanted to be in advanced to avoid the long queues that there are to buy a skiing ticket.

A las 9 de la mañana, tomamos el telesilla a Truchas. Una vez arriba, descendimos por la pista “Toboganes” hasta la silla Canal Roya, y desde allí pusimos rumbo a la Raca, el punto más alto de la estación.
At 9 o´clock, we started our last skiing day taking the chairlift to Truchas. Once at top, we descended on the run "Toboganes" until the chairlift Canal Roya, from there we headed to the Raca, the highest spot in the resort.

En la cima de la Raca, había mucha niebla y la visibilidad era prácticamente nula, pero la calidad de la nieve era espectacular y debido a la niebla se encontraba completamente vacía, por lo que decidimos realizar unas cuantas bajadas tomando todas las rutas posibles.
At the top of the Raca, it was so foggy and visibility was practically nil, but the quality of the snow was spectacular and due to the fog, the slopes were completely empty, so we decided to make a few descents taking all possible routes.

A las 11 quedamos con Will y Kate, una pareja galesa que habíamos conocido en el hotel Villa Anayet 2 días antes, realizando con ambos unas cuantas bajadas de la Raca y Truchas.

At 11am we met with Will and Kate, a Welsh couple that we had met at the Villa Anayet hotel 2 days before, doing with both a few descents of Raca and Truchas.

El miércoles 3 de enero subí a los pirineos junto a Nicky, una amiga inglesa que vino a España para esquiar un par de días.
On Wednesday 3rd of January, I went up to the Pyrenees with Nicky, an English friend who came to Spain to ski a couple of days.

El jueves 4 decidí llevar a Nicky a Candanchú, ya que era al ser la primera vez que iba a esquiar en los Pirineos le daba igual, y de esta manera podíamos hacer uso del 2x1 en forfait de Candanchú que oferta la cerveza Ambar.
On Thursday 4th, I decided to take Nicky to Candanchú, because as it was the first time she was going to ski in the Pyrenees she did not mind, and in this way we could use the 2x1 Candanchú ski pass offered by the Ambar beer.

En torno a las 8:30 llegamos a las pistas, una vez nos pusimos  los esquís pusimos rumbo a la zona de debutantes, ya que Nicky no había esquiado en bastante tiempo y quería “calentar”.
At about 8:30am we arrived to the resort in Candanchú, once we had put our skis on, we headed to the debutants' area, because Nicky had not skied in a long time and she wanted to "warm up" first.

Tras el pequeño calentamiento nos dirigimos a la silla de Tortiellas con la intención de ir a la Tuca, pero una vez allí nos dijeron que solo podíamos subir hasta la zona intermedia, debido a que la Tuca se encontraba cerrada por Niebla, por lo que solo pudimos hacer unas bajadas por las “Rinconada” y “Pista Facil”, las pistas azules de la zona.
After the small "warm up" we went to the Tortiellas area, to get chairlift to the Tuca, but once there we were told that the lift was only open until the intermediate zone, because of heavy fog in the Tuca, so only We were only able to ski theruns "Rinconada" and "Pista Facil", the blue runs of the area.

Tras haber realizado un par de veces las dos pistas de Tortiellas decidimos irnos al Tobazo. En el Tobazo hicimos unas cuantas veces la pista “Tobazo”, el “Tubo del Tobazo” y la pista “Sarrios”.
After had skied a couple times both slopes of Tortiellas we decided to go to the Tobazo area. In the Tobazo area We did a few times the only 3 runs that there were open; “Tobazo”, “Tubo del Tobazo” and “Sarrios”.

En torno a las 3 de la tarde hacía más de 10ºC, y como la nieve se encontraba muy sopa, decidimos finalizar el día de esquí.
At about 3pm it was over 10ªC and the snow looked like sugar , so we decided stop skiing for the day.

En el último día del año, decidí ir a Panticosa para realizar una subida al ibón de Asnos.
On the last day of the year, I decided to go to Panticosa to ascend to the ibón de Asnos, ibon is tarn from the Pyrenees.

En torno a las 9 de la mañana inicié la ascensión, tomando la pista “El Estrimal” que llega hasta el mismo parking, pero en cuanto pude me metí en el camino forestal que sube hasta el telesilla Petrosos.
At about 9am I began the ascent, taking the run "El Estrimal" that ends at the car park, but as soon as I could I got the forest track that reaches to the Petrosos chairlift.

Una vez en Petrosos, continué el resto de la ascensión por las pistas. Primero tomé la pista “Selva Verde” hasta pista “Fobas I”, para continuar por pista “Fobas I” y pista “Maldilar” hasta la salida del telesilla Maldilar, donde tomé la pista “Cuartale” hasta el Ibón de Asnos.
Once in Petrosos, I continued the rest of the ascent on the runs. First I took the run "Selva Verde" to the run "Fobas I", to continue on the runs "Fobas I" and "Maldilar" until the exit of the Maldilar chairlift, from where I took the run "Cuartale" until the Ibón de Asnos.

Ascensión al Pico Tobazo (2049 m) con Luna Llena, Candanchú, Huesca

Como el cielo estaba totalmente despejado y la luna llena estaba brillando, decidí hacer una ascensión nocturna al pico Tobazo.
As the sky was totally clear and the full moon was shining, I decided to make a night ascension to the peak of Tobazo.

A las 19:30 recogí a Tito en la estación de Canfranc, el chico que había conocido unas horas antes en mi ascensión a Picauve, y pusimos rumbo a Candanchú.
At 7:30 p.m. I picked up Tito at Canfranc station, the boy I had met a few hours before on my climb to Picauve, and we set off for Candanchú.

Aparcamos junto al arrastre B12, y tras ponernos los esquís comenzamos la ascensión por la pista "Puente" hasta llegar al camino que lleva a la olla.
We parked next to the ski lift B12, and after putting on the touring skis we began the ascent by the run "Puente" until we got to the track to the Olla of Candanchú.



Al llegar a la olla, tuvimos que esperar una media hora, ya que había "máquinas pisanieves" trabajando tanto en las pistas "Tobazo" y "Alto Aragón", una vez estas terminaron iniciamos el ascenso por la pista "Alto Aragón" hasta la cima.
When we reached the Olla of Candanchú, we had to wait a half hour, as there were "snow groomers" working on the slopes "Tobazo" and "Alto Aragón". Once the snow groomers had gone, we started the ascent taking the run "Alto Aragón" to the top.

Tras haber estado toda la semana deseando ponerme de nuevo los esquís, por fin pude hacerlo.
Having been all week looking forward to getting back on skis, I could finally do it.

En torno a las 8 de la mañana puse rumbo a Canfranc Estación, con la idea de subir con los esquís de travesía a Picauve, una ascensión rara vez posible, aunque gracias a las grandes nevadas que habían caído durante la toda la semana pude hacerla sin ningún problema.
At about 8am I headed to Canfranc Estación, with the idea of climbing to "Picauve meadow" on my touring skis, a rarely possible ascent that this time was possible thanks to the great snowfalls fallen during the whole week.

En torno a las 11 de la mañana me puse los esquís en la base de la pista a "Coll de Ladrones" y comencé la ascensión. Deje la pista en el desvío que hay hacía la “Casita Blanca”.
At about 11am I put my skis on at the base od the track to "Coll de Ladrones" ans I started the ascent. I left the track at the turning to “Casita Blanca”.

Al llegar a la “Casita Blanca”, continué por la pista de “Picauve”. 

Once at the “Casita Blanca”, I took the track to "Picauve".

Durante la ascensión tuve la suerte de conocer a Tito, y junto a él ascendí hasta la cima.

During the ascension I met Tito, and with him I ascended to the top.
